Bringing Ideas to Life
Bringing Ideas to Life
Helping local networks lead Allison to designing The Chincoteague Coloring Book. She brought a few copies and introduced herself to the owners of indie bookstore, Sundial Books. The owners shared there was a need for more children's books. They suggested an idea to Allison -a children's picture book about the town's annual pony swim and auction. They wanted to offer a book in their store for younger kids not quite ready for the famous Misty of Chincoteague series. This way families could share the town's historical tradition and love of wildlife with their children.

Allison spent the next 8 months writing, drawing, and self-publishing her first children's book. Creating Pony Swim! was a joy for Allison. When it hit the shelves of Sundial Books, the book sold out that same morning. Pony Swim! collected heartwarming reviews and inspired Allison to keep telling stories for children.

The next book, Pony Rescue! is set to release on Grandparents' Day, September 10th. Allison hopes this story about a real pony named Apollo, will empower young readers to ask for help when they need it most.

The animated children's TV show, Arthur was based off of Marc brown's Arthur book series. This success story inspires Allison to keep plugging away with all kinds of storytelling. She looks forward to sharing more fun books and short films soon.
